Auxiliary heat running constantly. The default aux-heat lockout is usually set around 35°F, which is too aggressive for cold-climate heat pumps. C-wire power loss. The thermostat display flickers, Wi-Fi drops, or the unit reboots when the heat pump cycles. The C-wire connection is loose at the air handler or thermostat end. Reseat both ends, then verify with a multimeter that you have a steady 24V AC across the R and C terminals. If the voltage sags below 22V during system operation, the air handler transformer is undersized and needs replacement.
Wi-Fi dropouts. The thermostat loses connection to the cloud and falls back to local schedule only. The leading cause is interference on the 2.4 GHz band from a neighboring network, microwaves, or older routers. Move the router closer or add a 2.4 GHz mesh extender near the thermostat.
