Description:
The ad focuses on the sunflower and never shows the car. It makes the claim that even the environment would favor this car for commuters. This is a ridiculous claim.

Eh, they're not making any false claims, and all they're showing is a sunflower. Could be worse.

Just because a car gets over 30 miles per gallon doesn't make it environmentally friendly.

[email protected] The Chevrolet green advertising ad was a very simple 30 minute ad promoting for its "Live Earth" environmental campaign. In the advertisement it states "Chevy has 8 2007 Chevy models that get thirty-five mpg or better". Also, it continues on to say, "Your environment and daily commute finally have something they can agree on; Do more, use less". I believe the company could have put more information in the advertisement to better inform the consumer. For example, they company should have stated which eight cars were the environmental friendly cars. In addition, they could have also stated which specific cars get what amount of MPG. Moreover, in order for the consumer to think they are trustworthy they could have compared their cars to one of their competitors and back up the information given with a source. I do feel that this 30 minute advertisement is a form of green washing. Chevy is giving off the impression as if they are turning over a new leaf and very green. In actuality they only have eight green models and think they are changing the environment. This is contradicting because they have a various amount of different makes and models of cars that are not eco-friendly. They should focus on how to make all their cars green and not just a few to better help the environment. This company also, uses visuals and graphics to make the product seem more green than it really is. They show flowers such as a daisy, and the background is made up of green leafs and white wording. This is distracting and from the beginning gives off a very green vibe. All in all, this advertisement if just lacking information and sources.
